Directive For the Acceptance of Scientific Articles as a Doctoral Thesis

DIRECTIVE FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF SCIENTIFIC ARTICLES AS A DOCTORAL THESIS

Goal

Article 1 (1) This directive includes the application procedures of publications to take place of doctoral dissertations for the Ph. D. degree, as well as the criteria of the article published in one of the following indexed categories such as SSCI, AHCI according to the IZU regulation for the Academic Appointment and Promotion. The directive also aims to encourage the production of the quality papers from the doctorate dissertation with the name of the university and increase the number of citations.

Basics

Article 2 (1) A doctoral student can submit at least three publications that s/he has prepared as a doctoral dissertation to be accepted instead of a doctoral dissertation. At least two of these publications in the physical field and at least one in the Social Sciences must have published in the internationally recognized indexes such as SCI, SSCI, AHCI or have been accepted for publication (with a DOI number). These studies must be prepared during doctoral studies.

(2) Dissertation study is expected to have a significant contribution to research and writing in publications. The contribution in the publication in question must belong to the student and the student must be the first author.

(3) The name of the dissertation supervisor can take place in publications as the second author.

(4) The publication (s) used in one dissertation cannot be used in another dissertation.

(5) Dissertation Evaluation Committee decides on the academic competence of three articles submitted instead of the doctoral thesis.

Application

Article 4 (1) The student applies to the Institute together with the articles he/she has prepared and a letter from the dissertation supervisor stating the student's contribution to the preparation and writing of the articles.

Operation

Article 5 (1) This directive gets into effect when it is signed.

Execution

Article 6 (1) The provisions of this directive are executed by the head of the relevant department and the director of the Institute.
