The Master of masters, Prof. Dr. Sabahattin Zaim was born in Štip Town of Macedonia once included in the borders of Ottoman Empire in 1926. He moved to Istanbul with his family in 1934. He continued his education started at the age of five in Fethiye Primary School located in Fatih, Istanbul. Later on, he attended Vefa High School and graduated with certificate of excellence. He entered the Civil Service (Faculty of Political Sciences) with the idea of serving his country for better and won the Faculty of Political Sciences in Ankara University. Graduating from the faculty in 1947, Prof. Dr. Sabahattin Zaim served as a Head Official in various districts of our country. Afterwards, he completed the Law Faculty in Ankara University. He started his academic career as an assistant in Istanbul University, the Faculty of Economics in 1953. Until 1993, he worked as academic personnel and head of department in Faculty of Economics in Istanbul University. Prof. Dr. Sabahattin Zaim along with his duty in Istanbul University, served as a guest academic personnel in Cornell University of USA During 1955-1957. Following his duty in USA, he gave lectures related to economy in University of Munich, Germany. During 1977-1979, he conducted his duty as a member of Board of Trustees in Middle East Technical University. During 1980-1982, he gave lectures in Socio-Engineering Developments Departments of Faculty of Engineering, King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. During 1993-1998, he served as the Dean of Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences in Sakarya University. During 1998-2000, he served as a member of YÖK (Higher Education Council). During 2003-2004, he worked as Founding Rector of International University of Sarajevo. After 2006, he continued his service as a member of Board of Trustees in International Balkan University in Skopje, Macedonia. He served as founding partner and member of board of directors in Gümüş Motor (Pancar Motor) which was the first private motor factory in Turkey and as a member of the first board of directors for TÜMOSAN Motor Factory established in Konya by the government. Furthermore, he served as a founding member of Knowledge Dissemination Foundation and Community. Prof. Dr. Sabahattin Zaim married Mrs. Ulya on September 10, 1959 and has had five children. Prof. Dr. Sabahattin Zaim, at the age of 81, passed away on December 10, 2007, on a Sunday morning at 04.15 and his body was buried in his family cemetery in Edirnekapı Graveyard. A dear man of science educated in our country, the name, Sabahattin Zaim, was given to the university founded by the Knowledge Dissemination Foundation as an example of faithfulness, where he himself served as a member of board of founder trustees
