Food and Agricultural Research Center

About

Istanbul Sabahattim Zaim University Food and Agricultural Research Center is a research center established at the university level to support the work in the field of food and agriculture in our country.

The main purpose of the center is; to conduct scientific research on food and agriculture issues, to cooperate with universities and industry on the subjects of study, to make scientific and applied studies to solve the problems in the food industry and agriculture and manage these studies.

Center's priority areas are to plan scientific and technological research in agricultural development which may help Turkey and to prepare the necessary facilities in this regard and implement the applications, organize and carry out theoretical and practical training programs and also improving publication and information activities and contributing to the university's scientific research and studies. In addition to this, conducting research and applications on topics that industry and other institutions and organizations need, conducting research on socio-economic and political change of the region and to produce projects in food and agriculture subjects related to Istanbul province and Marmara region and making necessary studies.

Firstly research and project groups were formed in line with the objectives and activities of the University’s Food and Agriculture, Research, and Application Center and the activities of these groups were regulated and supervised.

As research activities, two projects were supported and these projects were made into publications and sent to be published in internationally acclaimed journals. In addition, these workshops were presented in the Symposium "Traditional Foliage in the Caucasus from the 3rd International Adriatic" held in Bosnia between 01-04 October 2015.

As University-Industry Collaboration Activities, dialogues were established and negotiations were held with some companies engaged in the food industry in the vicinity of our university and European side of İstanbul.
