Application Requirements
Applications from candidates who have graduated from high school or are in their final year and meet the following criteria will be considered:
- Foreign nationals,
- Those who were foreign nationals but later acquired Turkish citizenship,
- Those who were born as Turkish citizens but later renounced their Turkish citizenship with permission from the Ministry of Interior, as well as their minor children registered in the renunciation document, provided they can certify that they hold the Document on the Exercise of Rights Granted under the Turkish Citizenship Law (According to Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901: “(1) A child born in or outside Turkey to a Turkish citizen mother and father within a marriage is considered a Turkish citizen.”),
- Turkish citizens who have completed their entire secondary education in a foreign country (excluding the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus - TRNC) or in Turkish schools located in foreign countries,
- TRNC citizens who reside in TRNC and have completed their secondary education there with GCE A-Level exam results, as well as those who enrolled in foreign colleges or high schools between 2005-2010 and obtained or are eligible to obtain GCE A-Level results, or TRNC citizens who have completed their entire secondary education in a foreign country and hold a TR-YÖS exam result.
Applications from candidates meeting the following conditions will not be accepted:
- Turkish citizens who have completed their entire secondary education in Turkey or TRNC,
- TRNC citizens (except for those who have completed their entire secondary education in TRNC high schools and obtained GCE A-Level results, those who enrolled in foreign colleges or high schools between 2005-2010 and obtained or will obtain GCE A-Level results, or those who have completed their entire secondary education in a foreign country and hold a TR-YÖS result),
- Dual citizens whose first nationality at birth was Turkish (except for those who have completed their entire secondary education in a foreign country excluding TRNC or in Turkish schools abroad),
- Dual citizens, one of whose nationalities is TRNC (except for those who have completed their entire secondary education in TRNC high schools and obtained GCE A-Level results, those who enrolled in foreign colleges or high schools between 2005-2010 and obtained or will obtain GCE A-Level results, or those who have completed their entire secondary education in a foreign country and hold a TR-YÖS result),
- TRNC citizens and former Turkish citizens (including Blue Card holders) and foreign nationals who will enroll in Turkish secondary education institutions from the 2022-2023 academic year onward (except for those studying in embassy schools, international private educational institutions listed in the MOBİS system, and foreign nationals brought to Turkey under projects conducted by the Ministry of National Education),
- Turkish citizens or dual citizens whose first nationality at birth was Turkish and who are studying at schools affiliated with embassies in Turkey or at foreign high schools in Turkey,
- Those who have been expelled from a higher education institution in Turkey due to disciplinary action.
Application Documents
Candidates must upload the following documents to the online application form:
- Application Form (The online application form must be completed through the university's application system),
- Original and a copy of the High School Diploma,
- Official document from the high school (for candidates who have not yet received their diploma) confirming that they will graduate before the university’s final registration date stated in the academic calendar (in English or Turkish). If the document is not provided or the graduation date is after the final registration date, the registration will be cancelled,
- Transcript (An official document listing the courses taken and grades received in high school, approved by the relevant school administration. If not in Turkish or English, it must be translated into one of these languages and certified by a notary or a Turkish consulate),
- A copy of a valid identity document showing citizenship information,
- National or international high school graduation exam results (e.g., Abitur, International Baccalaureate, Tawjihi, etc.). A list of accepted exams and required scores is provided in Annex-1,
- University entrance exam results (if applicable), such as SAT, ACT, TCS, etc. A list of accepted exams and required scores is provided in Annex-2,
- One passport-sized photo,
- Proof of legal stay in Türkiye for applicants applying from within the country (for visa-exempt countries, the legal stay period must not have expired),
- Civil Registry Record (Vukuatlı Nüfus Kayıt Örneği) for dual citizens who were born as foreign nationals and later acquired Turkish citizenship, showing the date of citizenship acquisition, along with a Name Equivalency Certificate or Citizenship Acquisition Certificate,
- Entry-exit records for Turkish citizens who graduated from high schools abroad, proving that they were physically present in the country while receiving their education.
Exams and Validity Periods
(1) High school graduation exams (e.g., General Secondary Education Certification, Abitur, International Baccalaureate, Tawjihi, etc.) have no expiration period.
(2) University entrance exams (e.g., SAT, ACT, TCS, etc.) are valid for two years.
