At the “National Technology Summit” held at IZU, the transformation of financial technologies, domestic and national financial models, and the future of the sector were discussed with evaluations from expert figures.

At the panel titled “National Technology Summit: Financial Technologies and National Technology,” organized jointly by the Turkey Technology Team and the Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Teknofest Club, the transformation of financial technologies and the development of domestic models were addressed from different perspectives. In the program moderated by Prof. Dr. Yusuf Dinç, a faculty member of IZU’s Department of Islamic Economics and Finance, sector representatives and entrepreneurs evaluated the changing dynamics of the financial world.

METİN YÜCEL: “FINTECH ACCELERATES TRANSFORMATION”
Metin Yücel, Director of New Generation Banking and Entrepreneurship at Kuveyt Türk, stated that financial technologies are transforming the banking system, adding that fintechs are changing both user experience and the way institutions conduct business. Yücel noted that applications such as remote account opening are concrete examples of this transformation, and said that banks and fintechs are increasingly working in cooperation.

PATOĞLU: “TRUST IS THE MOST CRITICAL ISSUE”
Mustafa Patoğlu, IT Director at Albayrak Finans, stated that the most important problem in the field of financial technologies is the lack of trust, noting that negative experiences in the past have affected this perception. Patoğlu said that the steps taken by regulatory institutions have strengthened the environment of trust in the sector, and emphasized that fintechs play a role not in replacing banks but in transforming them.

BAYRAKTAR: “THE DIRECTION OF FINANCE IS CHANGING”
Özgür Bayraktar, Founder and General Manager of Turan APP, emphasized that financial technologies have strong potential and stated that his entrepreneurial journey also began with this foresight. Bayraktar said that with the system they developed, direct transfers can be made between Turkic Republics using local currencies. He also noted that artificial intelligence is used not directly in finance but in supporting processes, and reminded that while the digital world offers great opportunities, it also contains serious uncertainties, emphasizing the need to be cautious about the future.
