“Yeşilay Fest,” organized in cooperation with Yeşilay, was held at the İZÜ Stadium. One of the prominent applications of the event was “Parmak İZÜ,” developed to draw attention to the habit of scrolling on mobile phones.
“Yeşilay Fest,” organized by İZÜ SKS in cooperation with Yeşilay, was held at the İZÜ Stadium. Within the scope of the festival, participants were informed at stands set up by Yeşilay, the Narcotics Branch, the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of Health, the Küçükçekmece District Governorship, and the Ministry of Youth and Sports. During the events held throughout the day, İZÜ students had the opportunity to observe the effects of smoking, alcohol, and drug use on the human body through virtual reality glasses at the Yeşilay tent. Twelve student clubs within our University emphasized healthy living awareness through artistic activities and workshops themed around combating addiction. İZÜ Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Küçük, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Erhan İçener and Prof. Dr. Nihat Erdoğmuş, and İZÜ Secretary General Dr. Fatih Hasdemir, who visited the event area, also toured the stands and received information about the activities carried out.
A “VIRTUAL ADDICTION TOUR” WITH FINGER SKATEBOARD
At the event, which aimed to raise awareness about combating addiction, attention was drawn to the effects of addictions on physical and mental health, while emphasizing that a lifestyle free from addiction and alternative forms of entertainment are possible. Participants enjoyed the pleasant weather in activity areas such as darts, mini football, basketball, archery, and table football, which were set up to promote a lifestyle intertwined with nature, and experienced a digital detox in the reading area created in the nomad tent. In this context, young people took a “awareness tour” with finger skateboards on a specially designed uneven platform to demonstrate that an average of 70 meters of scrolling is done on mobile phones during the day.
