The “Family in a Changing Society” program, organized by the Social Work Club of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, hosted Prof. Dr. Duyan, a faculty member of the Social Work Department at Ankara University. He stated that the increasing debates on family indicate existing issues in this field.
Emphasizing that the roots of problems in the family must be correctly identified, Duyan said that marital values and expectations have changed, and that the transformation individuals go through over time also affects family relationships. Highlighting that children have increasingly become the priority in parenting, Duyan noted that changing values can lead to the disintegration of family structure.
