The İZÜ Campus, which spent the month of Ramadan in an intense spiritual atmosphere with iftar meals, Enderun-style and khatim-performed tarawih prayers, concluded its Ramadan activities with a holiday greeting ceremony.
The holiday greeting program held in the Historical Museum Hall was attended by İZÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. İsmail Küçük, Prof. Dr. Erhan İçener, Prof. Dr. Nihat Erdoğmuş, İZÜ Secretary General Dr. Fatih Hasdemir, faculty deans, and academic and administrative staff. In his speech, which he began by wishing a peaceful and joyful holiday to the entire Turkish-Islamic world, Rector Acar reminded that the Islamic world is going through a difficult period. Acar continued his speech as follows: “A widespread mass ظلم continues in East Turkistan. Our Muslim brothers are oppressed in Gaza, Myanmar, Iran, and other regions. It is not enough to only pray and curse. There are 2 billion Muslims and 57 countries where the majority of the population is Muslim. But we have not been able to do anything regarding Gaza.”

According to Acar, who stated that there are two reasons for the inability to produce effective policies and the inadequacy in action, sufficient effort is not being made, and Muslims who are divided due to reasons such as sect, race, ethnicity, party, community, and society cannot show the reflex to act together. Saying, “Allah created people with their differences. Of course, our characteristics will be different. If we see this as richness and strengthen our unity by meeting on common grounds, we can become more deserving servants of Allah’s help,” Acar noted that Turkey has high potential in political and strategic terms, and that this potential stems from the spiritual geography it inherited from the Seljuks and the Ottomans.
Following Acar's speech, academic and administrative staff exchanged holiday greetings together. Many commemorative photos were also taken during the program.
