The “Preparing Future Engineers for the Sector and Orientation Program,” organized in cooperation with the Department of Food Engineering, the Food and Agriculture Research and Application Center, and the Food Engineering Club, was held at IZU. The program, which addressed current practices in the food industry, laboratory work, and professional development, began with a qanun performance.
In the opening session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. İbrahim Gülseren and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ertan Ermiş, faculty members of the Department of Food Engineering, provided information about the department. Dr. Zahir Far from the University of Jijel in Algeria offered international insights into the field. Introducing the projects conducted at the Biotechnology, Environment, and Health Research Laboratory, Dr. Far also informed students about research opportunities and academic collaborations.
Sebahat Şişman, a Senior Food Engineer at A&T Food Control Laboratory, delivered a comprehensive presentation on food safety, laboratory analysis procedures, and innovative next-generation quality control methods emerging in the sector.
The program concluded with various competitions and social activities.
