The “Zaim Cultural Festival” held at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University brought together students from diverse regions of the world for a vibrant and enthusiastic celebration of cultural exchange.

Organized in the university’s Historic Courtyard, the festival hosted students and visitors representing 31 different countries. The event garnered significant attention from IZU’s academic and administrative staff, as well as from a large number of students. The opening ceremony was conducted by IZU Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar, District Governor of Küçükçekmece Mustafa Anteplioğlu, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. İsmail Küçük and Prof. Dr. Erhan İçener, Head of the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports Hülya Şekerci, and International Office Coordinator Nesibe Aloudatallah.

Traditional Cuisine, Dances, and Cultural Displays
Emphasizing cultural diversity and interaction, the event featured country-specific booths where international students showcased their traditions through national attire, local cuisine, and unique artifacts—offering visitors a figurative tour around the world. The IZU Music Choir’s live performance added vibrancy to the event, while musical and dance performances by students from various countries received wide acclaim.

Later in the program, the university’s Theater Club staged a well-received play titled Korkma (“Do Not Fear”), followed by a stage performance by the Music Club. The Zaim Cultural Festival not only increased cultural awareness among students but also strengthened solidarity and contributed to the development of tolerance and mutual understanding within the university community.
