The Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University (IZU) community came together to celebrate Eid al-Fitr. The traditional Eid greeting ceremony was held in the university’s Historic Museum Hall and was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar; Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. İbrahim Güney, Prof. Dr. İsmail Küçük, and Prof. Dr. Erhan İçener; Secratary General Dr. Fatih Hasdemir; as well as faculty members and administrative staff.
Speaking at the Eid greeting ceremony, IZU Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar emphasized that holidays are significant occasions that strengthen unity and solidarity. He stated :
“In recent times, we have witnessed an increase in the pressures exerted by imperialist Powers, particularly on Muslim societies. In this context, it is of utmost importance for Islamic countries and communities to remain united. We must uphold our solidarity and the spirit of brotherhood with strength and determination.
Rector Acar concluded his remarks by expressing his hope that Eid al-Fitr would bring peace and tranquility to all of humanity. He said :
“I wish for this holiday to be a means of goodness. I hope we are granted many more holidays to come, celebrated in health, happiness, and kindness with our loved ones, “ and extended his thanks to the attended his thanks to the attendees. Following Rector Acar’s speech, the ceremony concluded with members of the IZU community exchanging Eid greetings.
