The President of YTB, Abdullah Eren, Met with İZÜ students


In the event titled “YTB and Its Activities”,organized by the İZÜ Politics Club, the president of the presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), Abdullah Eren, met with students.

The event, held at the Nizamüimülk Conference Hall of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, was attended by the Rector of İZÜ, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. İbrahim Güney and Prof. Dr. Erhan İçener, as well as the Secretary General of İZÜ, Dr. Fatih Hasdemir, along with academicians and a large number of students.

ACAR: TURKEY RANKS AMONG THE TOP 10 COUNTRIES HOSTING INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
In his opening speech, İZÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar emphasized in increasing significance of international relations and academic mobility in a globlizing world. Noting that Turkey has achieved a prominent position in terms of the number of international students, Rector Acar stated: “Today, Turkey is among the top 10 countries hosting international students. It is of great importance for Turkey to harness it is potential in this field, especially in regions we refer to as our ‘heartland’, among others. In this regard, the Presidency for Turks Abroad and related Communities plays a crucial role.”

EREN: TURKEY IS NOW MORE ACTIVE IN INTERNATIONAL ISSUES
The speaker of the program, Abdullah Eren, President of the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related  Communities (YTB), began by providing information about YTB. Eren described Turkey’s rise in foreign policy over the past 20 years with the following words: “The Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB) was established in 2010. The establishment of this institution is not a coincidence. There is a concept called state intelligence; it refers to a structue that acts according to the circumstances and makes long-terms plans. Over the last 20 years, Turkey has experienced a significant paradigm shift in its foreign policy. Now, Turkey follows a policy that aims to play a more active role in international issues and to have a say in global events.”
