The “BaşArı Kadın” Program Shined a Light on Women's Entrepreneurship
The “BaşArı Kadın” program, organized by the Entrepreneurship Club, was held in the Museum Hall with the participation of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar. The event focused on the role of women in the business world and featured speakers from IZU, including Dr. Tuğçenur Ekinci Furtana, Lecturer in the International Trade and Finance Department, and SKS Department Head Hülya Şekerci. Also speaking were Entrepreneur Kübra Orakçıoğlu Kazan, GZT Editor Kevser Erbay, and Lokma Digital Publishing Director Beyza Nur Şahin.

The event included notable speakers in women’s entrepreneurship, such as IZU’s International Trade and Finance Lecturer Dr. Tuğçenur Ekinci Furtana and SKS Department Head Hülya Şekerci. In his opening remarks, Rector Acar highlighted the growing presence of women in the business world, emphasizing the importance of female entrepreneurs and the female workforce in Turkey’s economy. He stated, “Today, women play a more active role in the business world. Most of our university students are women. With increased competition, the Turkish economy remains dependent on external sources. We don’t have oil, so women play a vital role in revealing the innovative spirit of Turkey's economy. Successful women will speak here today, and their stories will inspire you.” Dr. Tuğçenur Ekinci Furtana expressed her pleasure in attending as an entrepreneur, adding, “Our aim is to reach all women in the field of entrepreneurship under our university’s roof.” Entrepreneur Kübra Orakçıoğlu Kazan shared her experiences in the business world, while GZT Editor Kevser Erbay and Lokma Digital Publishing Director Beyza Nur Şahin discussed the increasing role of women in digital media.
