IZU Students Condemn Israeli Oppression

On the anniversary of the attacks initiated by Israel in Gaza last October, which have recently expanded to include strikes in Lebanon, protests are being held worldwide. Students from Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University gathered on the Halkalı campus to condemn Israeli oppression. The event, titled "From Resistance to Resurrection: Intifada Again," saw participation from various student clubs, including the Ahdimiz Kudüs Platform, Emergency Aid Club, Natural Environment Club, Young Vision Club, Good Deeds Club, Law Club, ISAR Club, Islamic Economy and Finance Club, Islamic Studies Club, Mehmet Akif Literature Club, National Youth Club, Pioneer Generation Club, Guidance Youth Club, Seven Crescent Club, and New Generation Student Club.
The event was attended by IZU Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. İsmail Küçük, Secretary General Dr. Hızır Tutan, as well as many department heads and academics, who marched alongside the students. At the end of the event, a press statement was issued, expressing that Israel's attacks have turned Palestine into a bloodbath. The statement highlighted that Israel targets everyone—young and old, hospitals, schools, and homes—without distinction, and called for the global public to unite to stop the oppression. It emphasized that Western countries quickly sided with Israel and stated that youth, especially on university campuses, must stand together as one voice against tyranny.

"Acar: We Are Witnessing a Zionist Brutality Beyond Words."
At the event, IZU Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar, who walked alongside the students, remarked that one of the most inhumane oppressions seen by humanity in recent times is occurring in Palestine, where a Zionist brutality continues that words fail to describe. He stated: “Israel has expanded its attacks towards Lebanon and Syria. The 2 billion strong Islamic world, 52 Muslim countries, the Organization of Turkish States, and the Arab League have unfortunately been unable to stop this oppression. We are witnessing how the United Nations views Muslims with disdain. As some verses have foretold, we are learning that disbelief is a united force. But why is our situation like this? Because Allah commands unity, yet we choose division. As long as this separation continues, we will keep experiencing this humiliation. This is an imperialist war, a mixed war, a hybrid war, a proxy war using puppets. They exploit all kinds of differences to divide societies. Therefore, we must unite. For 200 years, the Islamic world has lagged behind in the race for science, industry, and technology. Universities and you, the youth, have a significant responsibility here. We must unite, work hard, and become the ones who redefine civilization.”
