For Students who are in the Master's Thesis Stage and whose Normal-Maximum Study Period will expire IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT


Those students who are at the stage of writing up their Master's Thesis and are about to complete their maximum education period of six semesters must pay attention to this announcement.

The thesis advisors of those students whose normal education period of four (4) semesters or maximum education period of six (6) semesters will expire as of the end of the fall semester of the 2021-2022 academic year (excluding the Scientific Preparation period and the periods whose registration is frozen) must submit the thesis in the word form to the control e-mail address until the end of working hours on Friday, January 28, 2022. Theses submitted after this date will not be accepted.

ISSUES TO BE CONSIDERED

  • 2-Thesis defence exam: Those Students who have completed their courses and graduate seminars and achieved a CGPA of at least 2.50 out of 4.00 or above can defend their theses.
  • 3-Those students who will defend their theses must also fulfil the publication requirement. Click for publication requirement.
  • 4-Students who do not submit their thesis proposal to the Institute secretariat through their advisor will not be able to take the thesis defense exam even if their thesis is finished.
  • 5-Students who could not complete their thesis until January 28, 2022 within the normal education period of four semesters and extended it to the spring semester of the 2021-2022 academic year are required to pay a course fee for the extension period. (No discount will be applied to the fee to be paid for the extension period.)

    This situation will be valid in the fall semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, which is the second extension period.

  • 6-The students who fail the thesis study or do not enter the thesis defense within the maximum six-semester education period are dismissed from the University.

According to the first and second paragraphs of Article 9 of the IZU Graduate Education Regulation:

(1) The normal duration of the master's program with thesis, excluding the Scientific Preparation period, is four semesters. The period starts with the first semester of the registration in which the relevant programs offer the courses, regardless of whether or not students take the courses offered in this particular semester. The maximum period to complete the program is six semesters at most.

(2) Those students who cannot complete the credit courses and seminar in the curriculum at the end of fourth semesters or fail to fulfil the success conditions stipulated by the University within this required period or those students who fail in the thesis study or those students who do not defend their theses within the maximum period are dismissed from the University.
