Islamic Economics: Islamic economics implements it’s Islamic and ethical values via Islamic finance and brings equity, justice, and fairness in all economics dealings and ultimately aims to establish a sound and stable financial system. Therefore, the section conducts theoretical and empirical research on the broad spectrums of Islamic Economics such as prohibition of interest, money supply, credit creation, limiting the debt securitization, monetary and fiscal policies and among others.

 

Islamic Banking: To conduct the theoretical and empirical research on the practices, operations, regulatory, legal and Shariah frameworks of Islamic Banks.  Meanwhile, to carry various research on comparison of Islamic and conventional banks in terms of stability, profitability and issues and challenges faced by Islamic banks.

 

Islamic Capital Market: To conduct the theoretical and empirical research on the regulatory, legal and Shariah frameworks of sukuk and Shariah-compliant stocks. To promote the application of sukuk in private public partnership, project financing and real sector.

 

Takaful and re-Takaful: To conduct the theoretical and empirical research on the regulatory, legal and Shariah frameworks of Takaful and re-Takaful. This research cluster conducts research on topics such as Family Takaful, General Takaful, and re-Takaful by application of the various Islamic contracts.

 

Islamic Social Finance: With the strength of the niche waqf experience of Turkey, to conduct the original and applied research on various Islamic endowments such as waqf, zakat and among others.
