The Center for Middle East Studies (CMES) at the University of Denver in the US is part of The Institute for Comparative and Regional Studies (ICRS) at the Josef Korbel School of International Studies. It is an academic and policy research center, dedicated to the advancement of knowledge and public understanding of Middle Eastern societies in a global context.

The Afro-Middle East Centre (AMEC) is based in Johannesburg, South Africa and aims to foster, produce and disseminate the highest quality of research on the Middle East, to maintain public discussion and to help shape the public discourse on issues related to the Middle East.
