Dr. Yasemin Saib, PhD

Yasemin Saib is a Lecturer and a Non-Resident Research Fellow at the Center of Islam and Global Affairs (CIGA) at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University. She is also an Adjunct Teaching Faculty in the Department of Religion at Florida International University.  Dr. Saib is a Muslim Theologian and Academic specializing in Islamic Jurisprudence. She has earned a PhD in Islamic Studies from the Graduate Theological Foundation, a Masters in Islamic Studies from the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies and a Masters in International Development from North Carolina State University. She began her formal Islamic education over four decades years ago in Saudi Arabia where she studied the Islamic sciences of Tawheed (theology), Tafseer (interpretation), Fiqh (jurisprudence), Hadith (sayings of the prophet) and Quran for 12 years. She is a two-time participant and graduate of the Deen Intensive Rihla Program and studied with numerous Muslim scholars and Academics from the West and the East over the last quarter century. Dr. Saib is frequently invited to religious and academic institutions to lecture on varying subjects relating to Islam and Sufism and is actively engaged in interfaith activities in the community. Dr. Saib is also a certified academic of social sciences; an active philanthropist for orphaned children worldwide, a community builder for social justice, and author of 6 published children’s books.
