At the congress, solution proposals for the political, social, and economic crises experienced across a vast geography stretching from Turkistan to the Balkans were discussed, and a search for a common vision was evaluated within the framework of "ASRICA" Islamic Union Model."
Held at the Abdullah Tivnikli Conference Hall of Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, the “Congress on Seeking Solutions to Crises in the Region of European and Central Asian Islamic States” began with the participation of representatives from twelve countries and a large audience. The opening of the congress, organized by the Justice Defenders Strategic Research Center (ASSAM), was attended by many institutional and organizational representatives, including Kütahya Dumlupınar University Rector Prof. Dr. Süleyman Kızıltoprak, International Balkan University Rector Prof. Dr. Lütfi Sunar, Erzurum Atatürk University Rector Prof. Dr. Ahmet Hacımüftüoğlu, Gaziantep Islamic Science and Technology University Rector Prof. Dr. Şehmus Demir, Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Erhan İçener, AK Party Deputy Chairman of Election Affairs Prof. Dr. Veysel Ayhan, ASSAM President Melih Tanrıverdi, TGTV President İsmail Tuğrul, AfroAsia Universities Union Director Prof. Dr. Ashraf Abdel Rafea Al Darfaili, Islamic Scholars Foundation Board Member Prof. Dr. Mustafa Karataş, ASDER Board Member Cemal Erdoğan, and Union of NGOs of the Islamic World Board Member Dr. İbrahim Altan.
The congress addressed political instabilities, identity and border disputes, and major-power competition in Turkistan, along with efforts to find solutions to religious, political, and ethnic issues in Cyprus and the Balkans. Throughout the sessions, the possibilities of establishing a new vision for the region’s countries within the framework of the ASRICA Islamic Union Model were discussed.
In addition to Türkiye, representatives of civil society organizations from twelve countries including Qatar, Malaysia, Kosovo, and Sudan shared their observations and field experiences. The program also featured contributions from academics from the participating countries, who provided scientific perspectives on the topic.
