The accreditation of two programs in the Faculty of Education at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University has been renewed. The accreditation of the Special Education Teaching Program has been extended until 2027, while the Turkish Language Teaching Program has been extended until 2028.
WHAT DOES ACCREDİTATİON MEAN?
Accreditation is an external evaluation process that certifies the compliance of University education programs with certain quality standards. Through this process, the academic and professional competencies of programs are assessed by independent organiziation.
CONDUCTED UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF YÖKAK
In Turkey, the quality assurance system of higher education institutions are coordinated by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK). Organizations authorized to grant accreditation operate according to the criteria set by YÖKAK.
EVALUATED BY EPDAD
The teacher training programs at IZU were evaluated by the Association for Evaluation and Accreditation of Teacher Education Programs (EPDAD), a competent body in this field.
EPDAD is recognized as a national accreditation institution foucsing on academic competency and professional standards in teacher education programs.
A GUARANTEE FOR STUDENTS AND APPLICANTS
Thanks to accreditation, students can be assured that the program they are enrolled in meets a certain quality standard.
It also supports institutions in engaging in continuous improvement processes.
The Faculty of Education at IZU offers undergraduate programs in Arabic Language Teaching, English Language Teaching, Preschool Teaching, Guidance and Psychological Counseling, Special Education Teaching, Elementary Mathematics Teaching, Primary School Teaching, and Turkish Language Teaching. These programs are also entitled to use the Turkish Qualifications Framework (TQF) logo on their diplomas. Representing high quality and standards in education and employment both domestically and internationally, the TQF logo will be included on the diploma supplements, graduation certificates, and transcripts of students graduating from these programs as of the 2023–2024 academic year.
