General Information
The Islamic Sciences faculty aims to conduct research about permanent and universal religious values, considering the needs of the individuals and the society, to produce knowledge and to educate scientists.
One of the main purposes of our faculty is to bring a new expression to the lasting and universal religious/Islamic and cultural values through our experiences. Besides, it also develops a language and a discourse that helps man to understand, explain and produce reliable humanitarian solutions to the problems faced in the process of getting signed. Our faculty approaches human beings, nature and the creation in general with a holistic view rather than taking at face value.
The degree duration for undergraduate (Bachelor/BS) students at Islamic science faculty is four years. One year compulsory Arabic language preparatory courses offered to the students, which is taught by the Turkish and foreign specialist Academic staff. Then, the students enter into faculty stage for four years. The Bachelor courses are taught 30% in Arabic. In addition, our successful students have the opportunity to benefit from “double major” and “minor” programs.
Master Degree program has been successfully established at the Department of Basic Islamic Sciences. The administration is also working on establishing the Department of Islamic History, Arts, Philosophy and Religious Sciences.
One of the primary focus of our faculty is to ensure that our students learn English adequately so that they can easily follow foreign literature and benefit from it. To make that happen various opportunities both inside the country and abroad are provided to the students.
The viewpoint of a rooted religion and civilization has been the key driving force in the emergence of the Islamic Sciences Faculty. The proper understanding of religious and cultural values, their origin and believes are the primary source of manifestation of Islamic civilization. The interpretation of existing concepts, which is appealing people today is the main concern that constituted the general framework of the faculty’s educational programs. Mission; to raise youth which assimilates the permanent and universal religious and cultural values and the understanding of its source of reality. The youth who are interpreting these values by seeing the similarity of other cultures and civilizations and producing reliable knowledge regarding this issues. Briefly, our aim is to enable our students to begin life as a self-confident individual and head towards academic research.
In order to properly understand, interpret and put these matters into practice in line with our faculty’s mission education, teaching and research activities are carried out in three parts:
Department of Basic Islamic Sciences
Department of Islamic History and Arts
Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies
This distinction or naming is a distinction of what Islamic creation is, the dimensions of its intellectual, philosophical, and theological orientation, taking into account the forms of manifestation at different times and regions.
Lessons at the Department of Basic Islamic Sciences are analyzing and trying to properly interpret the principles and rules in the field of faith, worship, and morality based on Quran and Hadith.
The Department of Islamic History and Arts focuses on the style and forms of Islamic beliefs and principles that meet Islamic history in various periods and regions.
In the Department of Philosophy and Religious Sciences, we focus on what Islam is and how religion generally reflects the belief, though, and experience, how these dimensions reflect on life and how they relate to life, and how they should be understood.
In short, the three dimensions of Islam that can be summarized as 'faith', 'Islam' and 'Ihsan' can be summed up in the three sections dealing with the extent and depth that the subject requires in the three chapters, and how Islam eventually achieved a meaningful, consistent and satisfying life; as well as contemporary and new sources.
