STEM Laboratory
STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach is regarded as a new excitement in education and a new key to solve the real life problems. The STEM approach, which enables the concretization of the connection between school education and real life by approaching the disciplines in an integrated way, ensures that the learning finds its response in the real life.
The teachers of the future can qualify themselves as 21th century literates by improving in STEM Laboratory. Owing to the STEM, the teacher candidates, who are problem-solving-minded and think analytically, conduct the process management patiently, adopt the engineering philosophy and follow the technological development closely, themselves, witness both their mental and physical developments. In the STEM Laboratory, the teacher candidates who are disposed to produce the mechanisms that have been made up to this time or the mechanisms of their own, acquire the skills like listing materials, planning budget and work-stream, during this process.
STEM Laboratory has a capacity of 35 people. In the laboratory, where the faculty members have active roles, there is also a projector. In the STEM Laboratory, in order to develop the spirit of MAKER (Do Yourself), the teacher candidates personally study in the roles of searcher, questioner, planner, and experiencer. The lecturer, on the other hand, mentors the teacher candidates and before directly conveying the knowledge to them, helps them to discover it themselves.
Courses like Information Technologies, Instructional Technologies and Alternative Educational Applications are conducted in STEM and Robotics Coding Laboratory.
