EUROPEAN VOLUNTARY SERVICE (EVS)

European Voluntary Service (EVS) is a big opportunity for young people to carry out a period of full time voluntary service abroad from 2 to 12 months. This program is open to all youth aged 18-30.

European Voluntary Service is based on a partnership between a hosting organization, the volunteer and a sending organization. Volunteers carry out their volunteering placement in a host project outside their country. Firstly volunteers choose from EVS accredited projects that interest them. Host projects select volunteers, can reject or accept.

Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University is sending and coordinating organization. Full description you can find here

To become volunteer with EVS you don’t need any special qualifications. EVS is free for volunteers, all cost are covered by a European grant (accommodation, food, insurance and pocket money). Just in some cases you have to pay small part of travel costs (up to 10%).

Benefits of being volunteer with EVS:

- be inherent in different culture

- gain independence and self-confidence

- learn new skills
