Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University (IZU) and the Academy of Islamic Studies (APIUM), Department of Shari’ah and Economics (DSE) of University of Malaya (UM) shall commence by mutual collaboration of all with the organization of an International Workshop on Religion and Science.
Consilience is a social and scientific term meaning unity of knowledge. By the term science in this forum of face-to-face discussion the socio-scientific field encompasses natural and social sciences. Within this field are economics, sociology, culture, education, religion; and their interaction with analytical dynamics. The emergent methodology arising from such a broadbased understanding of science and its interface with the specific topic of religion opens up serious dialogue that combines abstraction with empirical/practical applications. Presenters can discuss all issues and problems in the broad area of consilience.
In this context, the workshop will especially focus on the methodological issues concerning Islamic economics.

Attendance Condition: In order to make presentation, it is necessary to send an English article in the subject. It should be reminded that due to the specificity of the subject, the accepted papers will be limited.
In order to attend as an audience-participant, it is necessary to know English. Furthermore, there will be a fee which will be announced later on. The ones who attend summer school and the Fourth Conference of Islamic Economics and Finance can as well attend this workshop free from charge. For the ones who would like to attend only this workshop the attendance fee is 100 dollars.
